Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

So... sore back, physio hasn't fixed it, trying something else... but i've just had the weirdest hour.

No manipulation, no twisting and turning; it wasn't a hundred miles from "laying on of hands" - all very gentle...

Is this "cranial osteopathy"? Is this utter quackery?

Am I just being a Neanderthal by expecting it to "hurt".

Strange... any insight appreciated!

Thats probably not fair of me. I think it does work for (chronic) back pain, its just when they start realigning your spine to make your liver function better that they might as well mix some toe of frog into your lucozade.

Not as bad as chiropracters though.

If it was minimal hands-on or touching then it sounds a bit like Reiki?

If they just laid on hands then they're relying on a very simple method to cure your complaints: Your imagination and belief. They need to actually DO SOMETHING to affect your body. There are no energy fields or flows that need raligning as far as any reliable and repeatable science can detect. There are no studies that show that this will work. There are, however, plenty of people who will say it's worked for them when what has actually happened is that they got better and went to someone who laid on hands. The two things were unrelated ina ny physical way, though. You might as well say "I went of a bus and it got better" and rely on bus travel as your main medical intervention.
