Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Sydney stars will be available from next years race if you are a fast runner & taking part in the World Age grading championships - everyone else is treated like chopped liver 😂

And I thought NYC was expensive and time consuming...

That's a whole week off work, that?

(Actually, I watched a video the other day of a bloke who flew round the world from Houston to Houston via both hemispheres on only low-cost carriers in less than 80 hours including almost a whole day to wander round Sydney.)

Oooh, that's interesting. Pleased it's not another US-based race.

Where does it stop? Will we get to ten stars? Is there a limit?

Yes probably 6 days off work minimum Wed to Wed ?

Then there’s the carbon footprint to consider (although sure that’s not a factor for the majority trying to do this).

I expect to see 10 - Cape Town & Chengdu are rumoured although Singapore have pulled out of the process to be selected.

Dubai number 10 ?

It's a concept that I've been looking into myself, just for shits and giggles. I get the impression that it's more shits than giggles, though.

Wondering if I can work it out starting from Leeds or Manchester. Dubai in two stops used to be an option from Doncaster, and from there I reckoned I could get to somewhere in Australia in two more.

To be honest, given how much of a ball-ache it's been to get from Heathrow to Great Grimsby by train the past couple of times I've flown from the States, I might as well squeeze myself onto a Ryanair plane from an EU hub and get at least part of the way home.

It would be awesome if Skyscanner of one of those could work out this sort of itinerary for you.

If Sydney decides to do the same virtue-signaling/greenwashing as London it might be a substantial extra cost for participants "to offset their carbon footprint".
