I thought the whole point of this forum is that you could get stuff off your chest to make you feel better and everyone just accepts that what grinds your gears may not necessarily grind someone else's.
I don't think people are allowed to either agree or disagree as to whether they think you are right or wrong to get wound up by something. You disagreeing doesn't stop them getting wound up by it.
In fact coming back with comments copied and pasted from a grammar section of the internet or trying to be clever with words to make yourself sound intelligent and then messing it up with basic grammatical errors just makes the situation worse.
I refer everyone to my original innocent comment about what grinds my gears. Can we just accept that is does and leave me to get on with my gear grinded life.

If you are referring to me Teaboy, the word is supposed to be unnecessary. Damn, he probably isn't. Now I'm getting a complex which is why it grinds my gears.

Boy racers who spend thousands on their cars making the exhaust louder and getting chrome wheels and a decent stereo system and alloy this and chrome that, when the car is a piece of junk.
Have you ever heard the sentence "putting lipstick on a pig". For the money you spent doing that, you could have bought a decent car with a decent stereo system.

I am thinking of deconstructing the phrase "putting lipstick on a pig" and it's appropriateness in the 21st century, but I might well explode.

Has anyone ever seen or put lipstick on a pig? Bit like the saying a swan could break your arm, does anyone know of anyone ever having their arm broken by a swan?
