I haven't been to school for 30 years, but I do notice that most of my neices/nephews can't add up or write very well. I am talking basic stuff. hot housing is fine if you can cope. if not find another way. I think the SATS stuff is aproblem because it is all aimed at that instead of proper fundamentals. However that will get lost because of the Welsh results. I may also say SATS are there for project management purposes

Dicking around with the banking system, the transport system, and the welfare system I can just about accept. Using kids as political pawns in some social experiment I cannot. It needs a collective approach with the first side to start finger pointing to be taken outside and shot...

Actually overall, this is an example of the current problem with today's politicians, they won't fundamentally make any real chnages, or admit a real problem, banking is a good example. some of the banks screwed us all over, but nothing has been done. education is aproblem now and nothign will be done except obsfucation

He'll gently nudge on the tiller away from Gove's reforms IF Labour win next time, but any massive changes Gove continues with will take ages to either bed in or get rid of. Some forget that it was actually Labour who brought in academies. It just became convenient to beat Gove around the head with free schools, which yes, appear like a pointless experiment, but as with a lot of policies, there's only a sliver of wafer-thin mint between the Govt and the Opposition, more's the pity.
