Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I feel the same about the preservation of languages. You can't insist on people continuing to speak something they don't find useful or beneficial. That's every bit as bad as linguistic imperialism. I think I feel like this about spending public money on restoring old buildings too, actually - National Trust et al take note :-0

The co-op advert using a Christmas tune; unsettles me every time I hear it. I keep thinking 'ooo yay, Christmas is coming' and then remember that it's August and Christmas is 1/4 of a year away.

The co-op is pretty shit. I used to work for their legal services so got a staff discount in stores but half the time they don't have what you want and the stores are horrible. They all look old and shabby.

They have some gems tho' - chocolate (when it's good), their own soya milk is good (I don't use soya milk anymore anyway but ...), their non-from-concentrate apple juice is v good, fruit & veg OK, wine usually drinkable and well-priced.
