Took an out of the way detour to the nearest garage (which is also a convenience store) to find the 2 pumps on one side blocked by a Land Rover and trailer who was in there so long he might have been doing a weekly shop, and one the other side by a Polo woman getting her paper. Waited for a bit for Land Rover man to emerge before driving round the other side and going in the wrong way behind the Polo. Of course, as soon as I got out LR man emerged. I gave him a dirty look. The pump only just reached to the filler cap, I couldn't see the pump display very well, and it clicked over from £20 to £20.01 in between me replacing the nozzle and paying. Jogged home from the garage by a shorter route than planned because of lack of time to find son just getting in the bath, delaying my shower.
