I'm sure there's a few Honourable Members who aren't entirely self-serving, greedy, apparently stupid, and out of touch with reality, somewhere in there....
(Ever the optimist!)

[for context it was a small local coop and the tongs are washed every night and your hands are never as clean as you think they are]

Got into Mrs D's car to take it to the garage for its MoT only to find the low fuel warning light on and an estimated range of 12 miles left.
Took an out of the way detour to the nearest garage (which is also a convenience store) to find the 2 pumps on one side blocked by a Land Rover and trailer who was in there so long he might have been doing a weekly shop, and one the other side by a Polo woman getting her paper. Waited for a bit for Land Rover man to emerge before driving round the other side and going in the wrong way behind the Polo. Of course, as soon as I got out LR man emerged. I gave him a dirty look. The pump only just reached to the filler cap, I couldn't see the pump display very well, and it clicked over from £20 to £20.01 in between me replacing the nozzle and paying.
Jogged home from the garage by a shorter route than planned because of lack of time to find son just getting in the bath, delaying my shower.

Voting by shuffling into one of two rooms is such an outdated and inefficient process.

And while I'm here.
TV programmes that use background soundtracks that have dogs barking. Nearly every outdoor scene has a woof or several.
Our dog feels that he needs to join in the conversation.
