Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Great Movember rant, I'm boycotting it by shaving more regularly. It is useful for revealing nobheads in the office though.

Also, people (women) who lick their fingers to turn the pages of the metro on the train in the morning. What's wrong with a dry finger?

I only know 2 Movemberites but they do look fucking stupid.

Sponsored periods would be great: you get out the sponsorship sheet and everyone realises you have PMT and runs to lock themselves in a cupboard for a week. Perfect :)

A letter from a consultant in a specialty that has nothing to do with sore joints, saying, "I have explained to the patient that there is no evidence whatsoever to support the use of glucosamine for shoulder pain, but I have personally experienced some patients having appeared to benefit from it and I would be grateful if you would prescribe [branded once-daily preparation] for a six-month trial period."

My reply is on the system. I shall edit it before sending it. "Put the fucking useless shite on your own prescribing tab then get back to medical school," is probably just a little more impolite than is necessary.

Ah, Will. My hero :-) I HATE that habit of licking fingers to turn pages too. There is absolutely no need. Not ever. Page not turning fast enough? Just try a little harder for a little longer, FFS crab

My gears have been ground flat by the stupidity that's been arriving in my paperwork pile today.
