Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Online purchases that ask you to write a review within a few days of purchase. How the fuck can I review a pair of shoes (for example) that I've not worn yet, or only worn once? Or a jumper that hasn't yet been washed. Ask me for a review a month down the line when I can offer a genuine opinion about the quality and effectiveness of the product.

[That might explain the number of pointless reviews that go like, "I bought this for my brother, he hasn't told me if he's got it yet."]

Reviews that ask "Would you recommend this to a friend or family member?". I always answer no, because I haven't got sufficient information about all products in the market sector nor do I have full information as to how my friend or family member is intending to use your product.

It would be far easier if the first question is "Are you a pompous arse?". I would answer yes and they would then have enough information to save asking any further questions.

The PM asserting that she's going to get the "best possible deal".

She's scarcely going to achieve anything impossible, nor will she deliberately settle for second-best. It is a waste of breath.

A runderwear advert I saw yesterday that stated ‘available in mens and womens colours’
Seriously, why not just ‘available in various colours’

Fierce and Fearless Fleecy
People who look around themselves very thoroughly before picking up their dog’s excrement.
You just know those tossfuckers are the ones who leave it there if nobody is watching.

I do that very self consciously, Fleecy. I am actually just checking that there is nobody with a dog approaching that might start a ruck with my dog while I'm scooping.

Hmm, ok. But if your dog is on a lead? And this was a couple, only one had the dog and the other one was scooping, but they both took ages looking around. And it wasn’t a dog walking area really.

Bloody google analytics!

I found a nice and shiny bit of kit in a blog. I clicked on the link to the retailer's site to get more info ... as you do ... I *REALLY* want it and would use it but decide against the purchase as I don't, strictly speaking, actually *NEED* it ...

And guess what? The top ad and both of the side ads of this page are all advertising the tool and it's cropping up all the time and elsewhere too! I'm used to things I've looked at being suggested back at me in ads, but this is bloody tortuous!
