Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Maybe the growling noise coming through the front door is putting them off :)

It's not so much the syllables Winey, but weird combinations. My friends both had unusual last names but their combination for their kids worked.

Another thing I find annoying for no particular reason: people who use their middle names (which is fine) but have the first initial anyway (is that an American thing?). L Ron Hubbard; E Annie Proulx; L Frank Baum.

I used "alright" on purpose. To prove a point. I guess it worked. Sort of. I still hate "till" and think "until" is correct. I don't give a flying fork what anyone else thinks, what the dictionary says, or how long the words have been in use for. That's not the point of the thread (I suspect this late night, sleepless rant would be better placed on a different thread).
