Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

[August, not much news about ER. I happened to be on Westminster bridge when it started chiming at midday today. It was a bit of a moment but not that special]

Highway Code excerpts:

186:
Signals and position. When taking the first exit, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise

- signal left and approach in the left-hand lane
- keep to the left on the roundabout and continue signalling left to leave.

188:
Mini-roundabouts. Approach these in the same way as normal roundabouts. All vehicles MUST pass round the central markings except large vehicles which are physically incapable of doing so."

Unfortunately, though, because so many people nowadays simply ignore both the above, it's almost unsafe to drive "through" a mini roundabout correctly, because people waiting to enter at the first exit see you change course instead of driving straight over the paint, assume you're turning left without indicating, and pull out in front of you.

That teams on University Challenge no longer confer quietly amongst themselves. I don't want to hear their idiocy.

I find Trump to be just like our Royal family to tell you the truth.

What Trump stands for is Trump.

The Royal family exists to promote the idea we need a royal family.

fb videos auto playing with sound. You can generally get away with sneaky checks ... right up to the point where a video plays :-o (some body tell me there's a way to permanently disable either the auto play or the sound prior to it scrolled onto)
