Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Jono, my reaction was more "just what do you think that is going to achieve beyond reinforcing Trump's persecution complex?" Not that that's disagreeing with you, exactly.

Saturday Kitchen Live's omelette challenge where professional chefs race to produce an omelette in the quickest time.
All they produce is yellow slop in about 30 secs.
The challenge ought to be to produce an omelette that they would be prepared to serve to a paying guest.

Is that a suggestion Swittle?

I'd definitely get a lot more done if I did 😀

Another language gripe - the recent rise in "excited for" over "excited about". This example seems to mangle the language even more:

"Network Rail engineers shut the lines on December 24 to put in new sidings and signalling, as well as to remodel the track, but Conservative Councillor for Shenfield, Jan Pound, said she is excited for the Elizabeth Line to open."

Parents on crowded buses ignoring their children's constant pleading.

I mean, surely they know how annoying it is to everyone else, but no, they'd rather glance at their phones, the selfish twats!

Oh, and I agree with you on the rioters, Jono. They do nothing but harm their cause with every misdeed.
