Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

I'm going to buy a new pair of inov-8. I already have the Roclite 315 and am looking at either the Roclite 285 or the Trailroc 255. But what's the difference between really in terms of the type of offroad terrain they're best for? I've searched all over and can't really find anything saying one is better for one sort of thing than the other. Would I even notice a difference?

Cheers.

They look a bit more trail and a bit less open terrain/fell to me, but I am only guessing.

I like my Roclites.

I fear change.

I love my Roclite 260s and also fear change. Fortunately I think they will last another thousand miles.

As it's free returns, I ordered both. Job done!

So just got both pairs. Decision made for me by Amazon incorrectly sending the Roclites in size 7.5. Trailrocs it is :-)

Thought I'd follow up on this. I'll be honest and, on looks alone, out of the box the Roclites would have been my choice (see previous post). They looks like they're about to attack you when sat on a table. The Trailroc looks a bit... less cool.

So anyway, thanks to Amazon I got the Trailroc 245s and I really like them a lot. They have a similar grip to Roclites (IMHO) but are a bit lighter overall. They have a big toebox (bigger than my Roclites) so you can fit big thick socks in them comfortably and there's plenty of room for your toes. I also find them more comfortable to run on on segments of road (which I always have at some point) than Roclites.

Overall, very good. I really loved my Roclite 315s, though I did find them a little bit too hikingbootesque at time. I wanted something between the grip of the Roclites 315 and the comfort of the F-lite 230s (which I love to walk in but hate to run in), and I think I have it.

I hope the 245s are better built than the 235s.
