Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yes I suppose it would. Is the TomTom the unit you're going to use, or do you have alternatives?

I don't have alternatives yet but am open to them. I use a garmin normally but cant see that feature on any of their range so was looking at tom tom

I have just tried to phone them again to see if I get someone else and its a foreign call centre got passed around and still no answer. My Question doesn't match their list. They tell me the gps wont work indoor but I know that! I just want to speak to an English person who knows how the watch works!!

I rang my local sweatshop with regard to questions about the tomtom and they were very useful, seemed to know what they were talking about.

It's kind of the antithesis of most gps devices though - "let me tell you the distance" isn't what theyre all about. Maybe a swim-specific watch is more likely to do what you want - they'll be expecting not to measure the course, but still spit out the stats

Good plan mandy might try that!
mbkn I did look at swim watches, they don't seem to like lengths of 545m though!!

I know this is a v specific requirement I have! But in cold countries people do run on indoor tracks a lot

Could you set the garmin to show ave. lap pace, then have a 'decoder wheel' wrist band to equate that to pace/expected distance? Only way I can think of doing it. You could always ask mr gps watch - dcrainmaker, he's always full of ideas :)

Sorry I know this isn’t the purpose of this thread, but have any of you had an issue with the multi sport not finding GPS. It works after charging, but seems to not find anything after being used.
