Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I thought of there too Ally-C but wasn’t sure if it was suitable for overnights. Nice dog walk round the ponds too.

had a night at Castlerigg farm (Keswick)

seeing the weather this morning we'd have liked to stay another night, but their hardstanding's are fully booked and they won't let us on the grass

this place is a lot more formal and regimented than it was last time I stayed in my tent, but the loos and showers are nicer.

It’s lovely, but I’ve never been anywhere with so many signs and notices and instructions

Thought we’d try Park foot. Bigger more commercial site that we’d usually go for, but at this time of week/year it’s not busy. Quite impressed so far.

I’ve bought an ‘off-grid’ accessory in the Prime Deals sale. It’s basically a giant power bank. 1500w so will power a small air fryer, and - crucially - Nic’s coffee machine. I’ve tested it tonight with the air fryer and cooking two chicken breasts used 20% battery. Should be spot on for a weekend off-grid :-)
