I use it if we have driven for a walk and he is a lot dryer by the time we get home. In the past with other dogs and less spare cash (!) I have used an old t shirt or jumper which works just as well ruffandtumbledogcoats.com In summer you can soak in water and put on them to keep cool which also works well I found.

Funnily enough before reading this thread I had done just that today - we got soaked on our walk so on the way home I wrapped a towel round her in the car and it was still vaguely over her when we got home so she clearly didn't really hate it. I've wondered about those zip up towel bags that they sit in too but I don't really like the idea of containing all her legs like that, especially in the car where she might want to move around. I think I will probably get one of the drying coats though at some point.
