Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hey team. Still trotting on here. Yesterday was day 2050 and completed the best run of the year. Can't explain why but managed around 7.50s for the 8.2 miles. Training for the Amsterdam marathon started on Sunday. Will be my last mara :( Good luck all you other streakers.

Guid ganning, Big Al :) Best of luck with your Mara training. I rather enjoyed Amsterdam Mara quite a few years ago, especially the route thro' the Rijksmuseum. :)

Ok you lot, I'm interested in streaking. On previous attempts I have lasted about a fortnight. Not good, I know.
I just really have some questions... A little survey if you will...
Indulge me
1/ Did your streak start organically, or did you set out with the goal of running xx-number of days in a row?
2/ What distance do you run at? (I mean, are you marathoners, ultra runners, sprinters or strictly 10k- for instance)
3/ How many female streakers do we have?

I ask no.3 in relation to my own streaks falling short. Mainly I have run out of food, clean clothes and crockery and have to spend a little time in the house, getting shit sorted. Partly because my OH thinks running is 'tossing it off' and doesn't do much to help out.

Perhaps if I am analysing too much, I'm not ready...

As a streaking newbie, I'm completely unqualified to help.

1) I set off to streak for a week, then to streak to the end of august. I'm on Day 26. I decided to streak as a motivational tool to regain my running mojo.
2) I only race a few times a year. From 10k to marathons.
3) I am female.

I'm relying on the 'streak saving mile' too much at the moment. Find myself nipping out 930pm or later. Running a quick mile is still better than no run at all!

Hello, cackleberry.
1) I came to enjoy running every day and, for my 1st streak, I often had a running buddy. I'd been running over 500 days on the bounce when I joined Fetch and this bonkers thread!
2) Back in 2007, I used to run events from 5 miles to Marathon; more trail & fell followed, but last year & this, I did virtually no races at all.
3) Hippo; clairster; FRU; and mave ^ = 57% of active Streakers. Night-owl and Garfield often join us for streaks of fewer days, sometimes governed by injuries or forthcoming events.

The minimum run length is a mile @ 15 min/mile pace but, beyond that, individuals set their own conditions that suit their lives, fitness, pace & run length.
