Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

They do seem quite varied, but I think running is the same, when you factor in all the XC, fell races, and other random stuff. It just so happens that there's also a structured set of common distances too. I've done my best to pick out the common ones that seemed to crop up for swim/cycle - but as I've said, let me know if you reckon I should add any.

Kimbles - I always thought the IM cycling distance was 112 miles, but you've got 180km - any thoughts on what the 'official' one is?

And is the long distance swim 2.5 miles or 4000m?

Also... for your swim and bike times to count, they need to be recorded against races, just like runs.

WTC has it as 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a marathon 26.2-mile (42.2 km) run :-)

Official is 2.4/112/26.2 (=140.6, half of which is 70.3, a number which I think WTC who own Ironman have 'trademarked').

'Long' swim, from the Olympic perspective, is 10k.

And thanks Fetch.

(now about this rolling graph I keep bleating about).

I'm sure it'll fix itself soon enough, if I haven't done it already.

Fetch - Not sure if you've done this already as I haven't done them (yet) but could you add 5000m and 10000m for track as well please? I like that they only appear if you have done them.

Need to get 400m to appear this season, and maybe a 5000m.

May even have to request long jump at some point ;-)
