Recommendations with links!

At the moment, I'm listening to "the Lovecraft investigations" on the BBC.

(Here: bbc.co.uk )

It's HP Lovecraft meets Serial and updated for the 21st century.

Its very good!

(I seem to have accidentally duplicated this thread. Please use this one and I'll ask Fetch nicely to delete the other).

i sometimes splurge on true crime podcasts but they soon get very formulaic and have about 30% too many episodes.

In that case fetch, you can delete this thread.

It's a bit odd though that that thread didn't appear in the list when I searched for "podcast" in the search bar ("find threads")

I've about 20 or so on the go (about 30 if you include probably-defunct ones): a handful of favourites are:

* Boars, Gore & Swords - used to be a Game Of Thrones podcast, now more about sci-fi and fantasy TV in general:

* Welcome To Night Vale - has it's own Fetch thread already: community radio from a desert town where all the conspiracy theories (not involving elections) are actually true:

* Our Plague Year: from the co-writer of WtNV, an occasional set of voicemails and reflections on the pandemic and how individuals are (not) coping;

* Guardian Politics Weekly - does what it says on the tin: one of the few Graun podcasts that hasn't folded;

* How's Work?: two colleagues talk about their work lives with a psychotherapist (different pair every week). Much less lame than it sounds.

Interesting.

I've been listening to meet David Sedaris on catch up.

And the new series of John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme.

Its a bit different to the previous ones due to lockdown, but still managed to crowbar in a "since you asked me..."

I like JF a lot- but I ditched the BBC Comedy of the Week podcast (not the Friday one) a year or two back because of just how piss-poor the average/median standard of the sitcoms were...
