Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Katie and I like a game of Scrabble :-) I know, right.

According to the shadowy figures of chaos that inhabit the Scrabble world, it's the done thing to keep an ongoing score. Each game becomes more than just an independent entity, but part of an ongoing battle for household supremacy. Or something.

We've decided to keep score from here on. Katie suggested a simple record of the number of wins, whilst I reckoned we should record our overall points total.

If, like us you live for such heady thrills, post your current score :-)

Scrabble app on Andrudge keeps score for you. And ranks you against the world. I am 99-4 up against my sister. And I'm ranked Ninja ninja in the world. Or summat. ;-)

Love a bit of Scrabbleage. Goodo. :-) G

Lol, I looked it up (cos I'd made it up. It's actually 99 to 11 with 1 draw (yes, really, a draw). Doesn't show you every score but best score was 526 and best word 120 (STALLING - must have been across two triples or something!) :-) G

My Mum quite often beats me in online Scrabble. She's really good at 2 letter words (has memorised them all) and knows lots of 3s as well. She gets annoyed at the ones that "aren't words".

What rules do you play when you play "real" Scrabble? If it's "maybe not a word", do you forfeit your go if someone challenges you and it's wrong? Or just have another go? Do you consult the dictionary? Is a player allowed to consult a dictionary for their own proposed word to "check it's right"? (In online Scrabble I'm really bad for trying 10 random, might be words and getting the best score even if I had no idea it was a word. Can't do that in real Scrabble!)

I don't ever use an anagram word site to cheat. Not when playing a human. I sometimes do if I'm just playing the computer though. That's how one learns, I tell myself! :-) G

Mandy, you can play online. If you want to, ping me an fmail to someone with your FB name (make one up if you want!) and folk can then play together online. There may be other ways, but Scrabble app + Play with friends on FB works well for me. You can play randoms online too. And you can play the computer. :-) G

Normally, one of us has the word checking website on a phone, and we're allowed to check whether a proposed word is in there.

I started with "ping me an fmail" and then thought maybe it should be "ping anyone an fmail". Sorry for confusion! :-) G

Are you involved in a Scrabblethon with someone? Post the number of wins you each have, and also the sum total of your points, if you record them. Or don't, I don't mind.
