Love Bill, Metallica song is fun, but that tango was poor - and overmarked in my humble.

I thought Jamie was shocking in his first dance - enthusiastic but didn’t seen to have any technical skills. None of the judges picked him up on that though.
Jamie and Ranvir for the dance off

Was just wondering - has an older (ie over 50) person ever lifted the Coveted you know what? I don't think so, I doubt even an over 40. There's been a few like Debbie McGee and Pamela Stevenson who've got to semi final iirr.

Voted for Bill, HRVY and Maisie who I think will be a good mix for the final. Would like Ranvir to join them but it depends who's in the dance off. Her waltz should beat either of Jamie's dances but who knows what the judges will decide.
Don't think anyone older has ever won it, Sharkie. I don't think a 50+ man has even been in the final before.

I'm getting a bit fed up with the couples' choice routines. Admittedly, they are very good to watch but extremely difficult to mark down. As they're a virtual free for all, the only blatant mistakes are if someone trips, falls or drops their partner.
I'd like to see more recognisable dances, especially as this evening's show had the first and only rumba of the series. Likewise, the Charleston and Jive seem to be picked too often instead of a Foxtrot or American Smooth, for example.

With it being a shorter run they could have chosen to go back to the 5 Ballroom/5 Latin dances they had at the start and got everyone to do all of them by the time they got to the final. It would have been fairer than just one person doing a rumba in the whole run. Unless she was forced into it I don't understand why Janette chose it.

You are right Sharkie - none of the 'older' contestants have won it. It's a young person's game at the very end...

I've done a bit of investigating. The oldest winner (and it surprised me) is Joe McFadden, who was 42 when he won in 2017. All the other winners have been 38 or under.

I think the dance off should be Jamie and Ranvir based on this week and hopefully Jamie to go. I think HRVY will win although he's not my personal favourite.

I bring the age thing up because I reckon there’s a chance Bill will lift the CGT. Seems he will reach the final, Oti is very popular too - so although Maize and Harvs are better, more accomplished dancers, the public vote ‘could’ go his way.
I don’t actually like the final much. There have been fewer acrobatic displays in the show dances recently- thank goodness- but there’s far too much ‘how proud are you/ what does it mean for you,’ for my tastes. Yawn. We’ve already heard it!
