Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Mudclaws are great for mud - but no use (worse) for slimy stone/chalk etc.
Still looking for a good shoe for that.
I do have a pair on Inov8 Ultra 290 Goretex that seem good for mixed ground - although do feel them if on road for too long, and not as good as the mudclaws in recent really gooey clay.

Not those shoes, but have had goretex trail shoes, warm in cold dry & windy weather but waterlogged after fording puddles & other fun wet stuff. Was a while ago, may be improved now.

I sometimes use waterproof socks which may be a better alternative than waterproof shoes. However they are pretty thick so might be a struggle if your shoes are snug.

Roclites are great, avoid goretex shoes unless you want to run in snow.
