Doc - I like the FGS recovery drinks (choc or vanilla, one will last me two or three days), the Whey Box protein powders are good too especially if travelling as they come in single serve sachets which you can just mix with water. At home I usually have peanut butter either on a crispbread or toast and an apple.

Having read through the suggestions here, I’ve just polished off chocolate milk, a Mars Bar and a packet of crisps.
Time will tell whether it makes a difference, but I enjoyed the experience regardless 😀

Sorry, should I have done?

(Seriously, yes, I did an eight and a half mile (for me) long run).

Six hours later I’m still feeling quite spritely.

LMH, peanut butter's a great shout. :) Honey + sliced banana on toast is my current morning fuel.

Yes, peanut butter gets my vote...or hummus and bread/oatcakes are some of my favourites if I can eat after a run.

I've also got a weakness for tortilla chips and hummus... ;)

For runs over 90 minutes, my first stage of refuelling is a Magnum. Which is almost like deconstructed chocolate milkshake :)

:) I've been known to have a Magnum in the last stages of a longish run... ;) The Coop on the way home comes in handy for them!
