Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thats great. I was getting a bit confused by the different types, and then saw there were cleats as well which just totally blew my small brain!

Cleats will come with the pedals and not the shoes. If possible try a few some people get on better with one system than the other.

I've got these due to my muppetry with clipping / unclipping: chainreactioncycles.com

one side = spd for bike shoes, one side = a normal pedal. My cleats are kind of recessed in the bike shoes I have so when I was less confident about clipping in / out I rode with one foot clipped in and one foot not to be able to easily put my foot down on the floor.

to be honest once you get used to them you'll find it hard to ride flat pedals again.

It's true. Now I'm used to it I feel a lot safer with both feet clipped in! :)

Ok so if i wanted say tri shoes rather than full on bike shoes I just choose the said tri shoes and find some pedals and cleats and the cleats will fit to my shoes regardless of what make they are?

If anyone is wanting to get into the clipless pedals, these seem to be as good a price as you will get currently.

Just into cycling too and have been confuzzled about this too. Cannot afford to get new pedals, cleat, shoes at the moment but eventually I'm sure I'll want to. How does this all work if you are doing a tri? Do you have to change into running shoes? My head hurts :)
