Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Canute,
I have no problem with working on arm swing as you mention; keeping them compact and not letting the wrist com much forward than the mid-line of your body.

I'm beginning to think that one sixe doesn't fit all but if you are not streamlined you aint gonna run well.

Chi running will get your distance in therefore making you fitter. I find when I'm racing taking a more POSE like stance neither of which are prefect by any stretch however people have commented I'm MER now (Landing under COG, fluid, straighter core, the head still seems a little stretched out)

I could never get on with the No arm movement stuff on POSE though

HOD - obviously the experts may correct me but I cant even think of a drill where you'd be told that never mind actual running within POSE method, hands not allowed too far forward, backward forward motion of arms

O_o

Hod, think you've mis-interpreted something somewhere. With Pose Method we simply recommend that you keep the shoulders relaxed so they naturally balance out with the legs. So arms are a natural counter-balance when you run. You need a bend in the elbow so that they swing with a good cadence.

The recommendations above of not letting them swing forward too far or across the body is because they have an anatomical link to legs and hence balance out together. Reducing the range of one helps to reduce the range of the other. It's not a big focus with Pose Method, but still, your arms should swing and counterbalance not be held by the side.
