Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Is it ITB?

Hi

A couple of times over the last couple of weeks, whilst on my bike (turbo) I have had a pain that stays for a few minutes then goes.

It's not every ride and although it hurts it's not painful enough to make me stop.

It doesn't hurt when run/walking either.

My instinct says ITB as it's near the knee but it's outside just below the knee - tender when prodded! - as if it's the lower leg tendon joining the knee?

Obviously any search relating to knees and pain in Google says ITB but I'm not 100% sure especially as it comes and goes and it's always there. I mean today was a slower than normal session in a lower gear and it hurt whereas Friday when I was in a big gear and low cadence it was fine!

Any recommended strength/stretching ideas too please!

Thanks lovely fetchies!

EP, it hurts like billy-o but rolling my ITB with the foam roller is the only thing that keeps mine in check. Hope it feels better soon cos it's horrid! xxx

I haven't had ITB pain since early days running (I don't bike much, so can't comment from bikeage point of view). I now do foam roller AND the side stretch thing, with legs crossed thing.

Hope you get it sorted. :-) G
