Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Hi all. I haven't been on the forum for a very long time but I wondered if anyone has ever ran in Cala Millor Majorca?

I'm going there 2 weeks before Cardiff half and I'm nervous of running by myself. Any tips, routes or even (a long shot) running buddy would be most welcome.

It's always worth checking the Routes feature if you haven't already done so.

Click Routes from the main menu, then put in "Cala Millor Majorca" and it comes up with a few that Fetch users have saved as public routes - most look like they're just variations of along the sea front and back

No specific advice but I often look at the strava heat map before going somewhere new, mostly to check that the routes I've thought of are the most popular ones - and I'm generally right :-) Running is a great way of seeing a bit of a new area (as cycling also is, on a larger scale, but you need to take/hire a bike).

Perhaps I'm just adventurous but when on holiday I just explore with no set route.

Good advice about checking Routes and S****a. One further thought: if you're nervous about running alone, go out at a time of day when there are plenty of people about so that you are less likely to be approached, and there are plenty of people who you can come to your aid if you need it. When I visit my brother in Spain, I find that hitting the main streets between about 7 and 10 tends to be a good time as it's when the families go for a wander together.

Check routes, as above, and also I use mapmyrun for ideas or others routes,
I tend to do the opposite times to LL - and when in (hopefully) hottish places, run early, eg between 6 and 10 am. I have yet to see anyone threatening in early mornings. (but I am male)

The other option is to ask - eg hotel reception or gym (it you're in a hotel) - both for routes, organised runs and options for 'running partners'.

A quick google of 'is it safe to run in ...' didn't come up with anything horrendous, and did link to cycle routes visitcalamillor.com
The pdf does show fairly good promenades along the presumably 'occupied' beach.

Hope the holiday and runs go well
