I'm not so sure you can. You probably need the original Garmin equipment and get it off there.

Go to your log and find the activity.
Click on the specs symbol to view it.
Click on the link next to the word Route which says Imported from file on.... or something similar to view the route.
Scroll down on the page showing the route and you'll find a box titled Export for Garmin Forerunner.
The file you get from that should do what you want. I don't know if it's exactly what came off the Garmin though. If you have a Garmin Connect account or Training Center on your computer, and you want the original file, those would be better places to look.

SS, do you mean a Garmin route that you only have in Fetch now?

From outside of Fetch e.g. You can export (save as) from Garmin Connect as GPX file.

From Fetch, I would go to Routes then click on Export for Garmin Forerunner, 1. Click to generate a Garmin course file. 2. Save the file to your computer.... which is on right hand side of screen. That saves as TCX file. You can then re-import that to Garmin Connect or other software.

What is the person you are giving it to going to do with it? Might affect the answer too? :-)G

Thanks Badger, :-)G

It sounds straight forward - but then I haven't tried it yet!

I will give it a go later on.

:-)G - The file is 1 lap of a race route used recently in a 24 hour event. The RD has asked for a copy of the file as they are in the process of requesting UTMB point accreditation for the event. I guess they are after the GPS locations and elevation detail so that the course can be assessed!

Ha Ha - not quite so technologically inept now :-P

As all three of you rightly suggested, the easy way was to open Garmin Connect and export it from there - where it is very straight forward and you have a choice of TCX file or GPX file.

:-)

Got something to say?
