Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Mr. Grumpy
The ones on Amazon UK are the Colors range that need batteries. I dropped on a set of the Advanced range on eBay with the built in batteries and charging dock.
I hadn’t considered the lumens compared to the high-end head torches, But there’s no way that she’d get on with a head torch anyway. Her problem with the chest strap wasn’t that it wouldn’t tighten down enough, but that it wouldn’t sit right on her ‘chest’

My headtorch is about 7-8 years old so no idea how bright
And my chest torch was £20-30 from decathlon so don’t think that’s great but I’ll be run/walk with a rucksack so don’t think this will work as battery pack is on back and probably uncomfortable under rucksack! Dint think it’s big enough to go over me and rucksack

Is there anything on sale worth getting currently in the headlamp department? I don't normally need one but having one would potentially open up off road routes to me in the morning.

The Gamma iii seems to do the job fine for me off road, having issues with the strap though which I hope they'll sort for me.

EvilPixie check the instructions if you still have them - mine from decathlon came with an extra strap/clip thing so you could attach it to a pack.

About This Thread

Maintained by
This was going to be a thread recommending me a lightweight head torch. However a comment from a fellow fetchie (thanks V'rap) got me thinking about chest torches instead. Having done a bit of research the only downfall I can see is that some of them seem to rock around a bit much, especially if you have a bit of a random up and down gait. So I wondered if anybody had used them and had any particular success or failures with any particular model, particularly with regard to lighting the...
