66 done! Knew I had to front load this week so glad to get such a chunk done

That’s reassuring dave! Sleeping is tough with achey legs.

Hi All,

Day 1 Consisted of a morning run of 22 Miles and an evening 4.25 to make it up to Marathon Distance for the day. The weather scuppered my original plans of aiming for 50K on Day 1 but not going to complain too much.

Day 2 Consisted of a heavy legged 10.5 mile morning run and an even heavier legged 4.25 in the evening. Went to bed half an hour earlier than normal as well ha ha

Day 3 This morning completed 6.75 miles and legs felt surprisingly good (don't expect that to last too long ha ha) and then after work will be another 4.25 miles.

All this means that by end of day 3 will have completed 52/100 quietly pleased with that to be honest and keeping my fingers crossed that I can keep my plans together for the next 3 days which will ensure a significantly shorter run to complete the distance on Sunday.

I'm in the 50k, but it's turned out that my boy has done so much walking with me at the beginning of the week that he's now in the 13.1!

Well done Alex and Ruth.

Didn't roll out of bed until 6 this morning. My legs feel fine I'm just incredibly tired. Must admit I did entertain thoughts of binning this this morning, but glad I pushed myself out the door. Another 8 mile run-commute.

Was planning a longer run this morning but got yanked back home as MrsNDW had a 9am video conference. Managed to get 6.5 miles in taking me up to 55.

I'm getting a little nervous that I have bitten off more than I can chew given how little training I have done, but lets see! Day off tomorrow, so will have a nice relaxed morning, get the aid station* stocked up, and I reckon start about 6pm our time. Should have dropped to the low 20s by then, so miss the worst of the heat I think...

* aid station is the dining room table, as i shall be running fairly big loops. Might even have to drain and refill the hot tub ready for post run relaxing...

Another run-commute and I'm 75% done. After negative thoughts of jacking it in yesterday I'm now starting to think I might finish a day early!

Post-run hot-tub sounds good Sam, good luck.

And yes, refuelling is tricky. My long runs included a stop at a co-op with a long wait in the queue to get in and on another I took a rucksack heavy with full water bottles.
