Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

[ I'm starting to think that C block is comparatively sane and sensible - BUT we do have a door which says "No Entry" on both sides, and which is permanently unlocked ]

To all cyclists,

Someone broke off my cycle rear lamp yesterday, and then removed it. It was a quite tough plastic strap holding it in position, so would have required some force. I presume it was vandalism rather than deliberate theft, as they left the rest of the fitting on the bike, but they may have been trying to see if the could get the unit off and broke it while doing so.

C'est la vie...

Its the main internal door between the two parts of C block. Why it has 'No entry' on both sides is historical. It also says "Motorsports Division" - we don't own the Boreham campus - we lease it off Fords.

Once this stopped being an airbase, it was taken over by Ford's motorsport division - part of the test track is still here, over by the control tower. The 'No entry' from this side dates back from then. Ford moved away and we moved in in about 2003. Our lease is up in something like 2018, when it may or may not becomce a housing estate.

Until recently, it was actually okay to go through the door in that direction in spite of the sign, but not the other way, so another sign was put up. Now its unlocked to buth directions from 07:30 to 16:30 but outside those hours its PAC-tag access to get from my side to the other, and a push button to go in the opposite direction.

When authorising invoices using:

Pink slips for matter chargeable invoices
Purple slips for internal office expenses

Would you kindly ensure that you complete the top section of the slip.

This includes the invoice number, which can then be matched to the original invoice

and description, especially for internal office expenses
