Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

I've been running off-road all distances in my Inov-8 F-Lites and Inov-8 X-Talons for over 2 years now. I'm injured at the moment unfortunately but not as a result of the minimalist shoes. My phys thinks its some other day-to-day shoes which have caused the issue.

I've been wearing skechers since the summer, really like them
For long distances go for gorun ride or gorun ride ultra

Wiggle have some of them going cheap at the moment

wiggle.co.uk

They are lightweight but feel very cushioned, I have used them up to 40 miles in one go so far and am planning on using them for 100km next month. Have just retired a pair at 600 miles but they look like they still have wear left in them so could get more out of them

It's hard for me to get my head around Skechers being anything more than a fashion shoe brand, though I have heard a lot of good things.

The Saucony Ride 5 are also a 4mm drop. If they were a bit softer I would have like them, but they're not.

I actually noticed today wearing my Brooks pureflow 2s on an 8 mile run that they kind of force me to strike with my midfoot. I guess they are trying to get heel strikers to not heel strike? I'm a ball of foot striker, so they are kind of changing my stride. Still, I really like the way they hug my arch. That is comfy, and they are really comfy walking.

Maybe a Launch will appear in my size...I didn't realise they were on version 2.

I didn't realise the Guide was now a 4mm drop. I also have a pair of skechers as well and I know what you mean about a leisure shoe etc and its one of the first thing that all the reviewers said when they first got them but after running in them they changed their minds. I also have a pair of hurricanes which are now an 8mm drop and so much lighter than they used to be that I can't believe they are a stability shoe.

New Balance have a shoe 630v2 which looks a little bit like the launch. They are describing it as a minimalist shoe but it has a 12 mm drop - I have pointed out to them that I think this is misleading.

Thanks. I am now looking at the Kinvara 3 to tide me over until the Launch are restocked.

I initially like my Brooks Pureflows, but after wearing them for about 200 miles now, they hurt my toe. I won't be buying another pair.

I tried the cadence but found them too narrow and I don't have particularly wide feet. I looked at the Saucony webite and they say the ride has an 8mm drop. Did you mean another shoe?

Ah - you're right. Not sure where I read 4mm from. Maybe that was the Kinvaras. Anyway, the Rides aren't awful and are quite light for a normal shoe, but I prefer a cushier shoe. Basically, I'm going to buy out the shop when the Launch become available again!

Hello! I have a question for those in pureflows......did the nav band strap thing irritate you much when you first got them? I have worn mine for 2 runs now, totalling almost 7 miles and the strap feels so tight against the outside of my foot. I got in 3 hours ago and the outside edge of my feet still feel a bit odd. Other than that I love them (was in Asics 1170 before) so am hoping this strap issue might magically go away :/ I do have weirdly wide feet, so I think that may be a long shot!

It looks like they've finally retired the Brooks Launch, which was the best running shoe I've ever...
