Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Chocolate peanut butter squares would probably work in the microwave

I never got round to trying cake although I did make some pasta-sauce type stuff in the microwave

Daughter’s attempts at microwave cakes might suggest they’re not worth it. Very rubbery.

Point note sk thanks. I saw a microwave recipe that was egg-free specifically to avoid rubberiness

I've been making microwave mug cakes, no eggs and can be dairy free, not rubbery. I use 50g Sr flour, 10g sugar (probably should be more but I don't like it too sweet) 15g light olive oil and 45g oat milk (or other of choice) add flavour/fruit/whatever to preference (I pour the mixture over a bit of syrup sometimes and have it like a syrup sponge pudding) 1min 30 or just under in the microwave. It's not the best cake in the world, I'll be honest, but it's nice for a quick fill the cake gap.

They sound nice Linds - is the recipe in the article? I'm a peanut butter addict.

Microwave cakes don't keep but can be nice as Purps says egg free and eaten immediately.

They are amazing LMH and so easy. I took them to parkrun and now I'm not allowed to bring any other cakes ever again. You can easily make them vegan too if necessary and I guess gf.

I'll put the recipe in the article.
