Cool, mate. Now all I've got to do is come up with something dramatic that I can send in or talk to you about. I want to get involved, and what's more I feel that fame awaits!;-)

Downloading it now to listen to later. The website certainly looks very professional. Hope it really takes off and may try my hand at writing/recording something for a future edition - what are the guidelines? Any minimum length or maximum? Any preferred topics? Do you like to see a copy of the item first to "vet" it?
Best of luck Gordon. :-)G

lol Nellers (i'm bowing as i write your name)
thanks HappyG. Good questions, probably something i should address on the website.
max length - the max i'm aiming for the podcast overall is 30 mins so for individual items i'd pencil in 5 mins and work from there. Having said that i'd be quite happy to receive a race report that was just 30 secs long, and when the BIG mile in Manchester happens i'm aiming to do a report on it which is likely to be 5-10 mins long.
preferred topic - difficult to answer but to give an obvious answer "no, so long as it's running-related". But there are all sorts of aspects to running not just races or training. In the future I would like to do items on what it's like to be an athlete if you're disabled, or blind, etc; the benefits of running to counter-act things like depression; obituary whenever a famous runner dies.... think of the podcast as a magazine: there's all sorts of articles about different aspects of running in a mag and that's what i'm aiming to cover too.
me see the item first - not necessarily. Though i guess it'd be a good idea to run ideas by me not least so i can pencil in time into future schedules (oooh, get me!!) and to ensure that i don't waste your time.
The one and only thing i have on my "do NOT want" list is an audio of someone running while recording their thoughts onto tape: "just completed 5 miles [pant, pant]... 3 more to go [pant pant] oh look! a tree". Sorry, not interested in that!
Oh and the second thing on my one and only list (eh?) is language - if my 12 y o son can listen to it then that's OK.
But otherwise i'd encourage contributors to use their imagination.
Now, if anyone can get me an exclusive interview with Seb Coe............

Oh, so it's going to be like a running mag! Clever! Then you've only got to do 6 months of items and you can just repeat them from then on.;-)

thank you paul.
that could be a plan nellers - next month it's an item on "Jelly Babies: how they're great for marathons" then in June 2010 it'll be "Jelly Babies: how they're bad for marathons".
