But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

I've just uploaded Wider Mead for the W. I ran there specifically for the lame joke in the title (which runs through my head every time I pass it) despite living on a road that starts with W.

It made me think about a different challenge - street names which are Christmas linked. I drive past shepherds hill as well as kings road this morning... could have the whole nativity soon!

Internet search for X street, UK, Google filled in X as Xanax and I ill advisedly clicked. I now know the street price of illegal Xanax trading in the UK. :-) G

When the alphabet fills up and we go to the second round is everyone going to leap in and immediately upload street signs they've been caching throughout the morning? I mean, if someone snaps a picture at every street sign they pass on a single run or walk then they'd have a stash of letters ready to deploy, and they just have to wait for the next round to be announced. Then subsequent rounds might turn into just a race to see who can upload the quickest.

This could be prevented by adding an extra condition to the photos for each round -- like "wear a Christmas jumper" or "stick one thumb in your ear" -- that's only announced at the end of the previous round.

Curiosity/ nosiness has got the better of me, so...what might a ticket in the hat lead to ? (Apologies if the answer is blindingly obvious).

BTW, there’s a Xanten Way in Salisbury but I’m not sure they have got round to putting up a street sign yet.

Upload a selfie to the gallery featuring you in front of a street sign (e.g. Queen Street), any time before December 24th.

The first person to upload each letter of the alphabet (Queen Street = Q) will get ten extra tickets in the hat. If you duplicate someone else's letter, you don't get any extra tickets.

If we collect all letters* before December 24th, we start again. So another Queen Street uploaded AFTER the first completed alphabet will also earn ten tickets for whoever uploads it. We'll go round as many times as necessary!

*X is excluded. Non-English letters are entirely valid, but it's not necessary to collect all the non-English letters, otherwise we'd be here for ever.
