i would imagine the running technique folks will have something to add....

anyway, before they arrive.... where exactly on your shins does it hurt? and where exactly on your ankles? when does the pain come on? does it hurt right from the start of a run and ease off? or start OK and then develop and sore afterwards.

both shins? both ankles? and how much 'shorter' is your leg supposedly and how was this established? (ie how was it measured?)

and... has any one of these physios looked at your glutes? and the flexibility of your joints? am wondering if strengthening core and glutes and ankles might be what you need.

PS if a running shop analysed your gait and sold you the wrong shoes, take them back.

my sympathies though. truly I DO know how you feel.

Of course we always need to look at our technique regardless ;)

It should be neutral shoe with an orthotic and supportive without to be honest a lot of running shops are not qualified they are just offering an opinion unless it's JJB where their opinion is worth JACK

*something about POSE*

it sounds very much as though there is no major structural problem, which is why you're getting all these different opinions. With a significant injury, it's there, it's diagnosable and it's easy.
I strongly suspect your running technique is to blame. I would suggest saving all the money you're spending on podiatrists and physios and instead spending it on some technique coaching sessions
There's several qualifeid POSE coaches on here - one will probably be along soon

stumpy the shin splints were completelty gone when i was running my beasts. then when i got the new insoles almost instant the shin splints started i wore them for a week then went for a run just in my beast usual route had to stop half way through to sore and there stil ver tender.

yes both inside of the ankles and and wher the calf meets the shin bone bottom half. she measured it with a tape

and the last physio did say my core is as good as jjbs opinon and thats why my left hip/back click when i do a sit up or even just lift my leg up and down

Doesnt everyone click?

it doesnt mean there is anything wrong

i agree, get someone to look at your running style

or why dont you just stick with the brooks-you could run in them

If it aint broke don't fix it - first rule of medicine ..... Wear the brooks..... And physios and pods and running shops are not "specialists" as such. Have you tried a sports physician?
