Started jogging on treadmill in gym Jan 08 for a change of programme. Then signed up for charity race4life with work colleagues but ended up being the only one to do it! By end spring/early summer I didn't want to be indoors so tried running outdoors and have never looked back. I've found several different routes locally and enjoy finding new ones and checking mileage on fetch. Completed Bath Half in March 09 after following a training programme I found in a book. Ran much faster in Frenchay 10K a month later and then again at Bristol 10K in May 09 where I managed to better my time by a couple of minutes. Keynsham 10k had hills that I wasn't prepared for and Bradley Stoke was on a very hot & sunny morning. I always run with a water bottle now and am trying to do some hill & speed work but I find these difficult. Currently preparing for Bristol Half in Sept 09. It's great having something to aim for and the people are really friendly (especially those at the back!); Happy to still be plodding along...
