The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Well done for sticking it out - it's not a particularly easy course on a hot day (I found the road that runs asymptotic to the railway line a real killer). Is that the furthest you've gone in one go?

It is and yes, that road "did" for me. very sunburnt despite factor 50. not enough savoury food at checkppints, should have taken a bag of pretzels or similar

IIRC the only savouries were at half way - otherwise it was cake and jelly babies. That's fine if you're trotting round in 5 or 6 hours, but I can see you'd want something more substantial. I think Mel took some marmite sandwiches first time she did it! And remember Binks' laws of ultra marathons - don't extrapolate. L2C won't be twice as hard - it will just be different!

It's more I don't fancy sweet than need sinstantial, was craving salt despote drinking their electrolyte stuff.
