Lindsays Borders Marathon. Hmm, well on the positivies that was great fun, great to see folk, relaxed start, picked pace up a bit, decided half way through to target 3:15, but... my Garmin reckons it was 27.1, so I got to 26.3 in 3:15 but then stopped for a pee, and walk/jogged the last bit. Wonder why my Garmin was so far off? It was a wheel measured course (3 laps, averaged then multiplied up, so could be a margin of error) but a couple of folk measure 27.1 and one 26.0 and a couple of folk were given either an extra lap or a lap too few, so errors were poss. It has to be said though, that some folks' Garmins measured bang on 26.2, so maybe just Garmin errorage?! Anyhoo, most important thing was great social. santababy, siouxsie, SpicedApple, Rents himself etc. Great to see lots of folk. Bit sore today - slightly too fast to just call it a training run, but not fast enough to call it a decent marathon time. Ho hum! Kit point too - it was slighly rocky track (the safety lane for the ambulances etc inside the horse race track) so maybe F-lites weren't best, maybe should have gone with Hokas. Lots in evidence there yesterday. :-)G
