Day One GR11. Followed a river valley … up and up and up. Ascent was probably 1600 m but with 24 m of descent! Strange. Pine forest with occasional meadows. Bag felt heavy especially as we were carrying lunch for two days.. but I loved it. First time in a refuge. Bunk beds in a room for 8. Reminded me of teenage youth camps
