Rrrraaaaarrrrrggggghh.
A very small Raargh. Just 4 sets of calf raises after the run. 65kg on the bar, though, so yeah, deserves a bit of Raargh. The real deal weights sesh is tonight. Squats, Bench, Overhead press, Pull ups.
My tennis coach, of all people, was talking about 'muscle ups' yesterday. I haven't googled but aren't they one of those not-actually-possible things gymnasts do?
I don;t think it's an impossible one but it certainly needs some work and a sensible progressionto get it. Also a pull up bar with plenty of headroom above it, which I don't have at home.
I'll have a play at the gym later in the week and report back. He (Olly, my coach) reckons it's as much about timing and co-ordination as strength, which was why he mentioned it in the first place.
Yes, but you need a fair amount of both strength and co-ordination! If you can do 10 pull ups then you should have the strength element, apparently, but the timing and co-ordination is something I'm not really able to work on much.
We've got one of those 'assisted pull up' thingummies at Nuffield - that might get me half way.
