Well that was weird. Crazy busy at Pentlands. Decided to go there because, well, weather was nice, Sunday run, by myself not with club or any others as all social interaction advised against due to corona virus. Fine. Go somewhere nice and remote. In hindsight Ochils or Lomonds might have been better, but probably would have been same. Wherever it was in car, and car parking with families (and larger groups?) going walking seemed to be the main issue. Cars parked down Mansfield road past the Rigg junction! So I contributed to the problem, but having driven 25 mins to get there I wasn't going to turn back! Once parked, just set straight off (forgot to start Garmin for 0.25 mile!) and can't believe how busy. Groups everywhere. Now, charitably I would say just families going stir crazy in the house wanting to get out for some fresh air and exercise, but there were definitely groups bigger than one family and they weren't keeping a distance. Anyway, I went with just passing by quickly and using my elbow to open gates. Hopefully didn't pick up or pass on anything. Particularly busy towards Flotterstone, but actually even the more remote routes like over Harbour Hill had loads of folk. In some ways I'd say it's good that kids and families are getting out and enjoying nature. Just a bit too close. Enjoyed the run very much. Even though felt a bit sluggish, ended up being quite quick trying to dart past people, a little.

Poor Mum got second hand flowers from home, half a bottle of milk, 2 banans and a can of chopped tomatoes for her Mother's Day and a 5 min chat on her doorstep. I didn't want to go to shops, they really are not a good place to go, then pass anything on to her. She's got a delivery coming from Morrison's but it was with a 2 week delivery delay! We'll keep her stocked with essentials until then. These are strange times indeed. Only going to get worse before it gets better.

Monday I'm in to work for first day at Tesco Bank new job. Weird too. I'm glad to have work, but bit worried whether it will last. Oh well, just need to keep hoping. Just going in to get laptop, log on to network, say Hi to Allan F (from a distance) then leave, I think. And most of all hope everyone stays as safe as poss! :-) G
