Coulson The plan of sticking to an 8min mile pace went straight out the window as soon the gun went off, as I got carried along with a few other Elswick lads doing a sub 7 min mile pace. At 10 miles I thought 'why the hell am I doing this, there must be a 10k somewhere today!' Paid off tho!!! Cheers if you bet on me!

FfJono very happy with the time. windy conditions in the first half of the race put paid to my sub ninety min early on but still finished well inside my old pb. thankyou to all those who bet on me. the extra pressure probably made me run quicker. 153rd

jazz Not sure if will make the race as got a sore right foot, going to have a few days rest & then see what it is like. After-foot ok but suffered from a really bad stich which hampered my race & made me suffer from 4-8 miles, rallied abit after this & picked the pace up but it was not enough to make up the lost time. Think I preferred the slight different course last year or maybe just preferred it as had a better run!

Pod Ran this race alone. Most enjoyable but at times challenging. Twas rather windy at stages and we ran into the wind for what seemed to be a long period of time. Miles 5 to 8 were mentally hard, but I managed to keep to a constant spped. Alawya arriving at the mile markers under the 10 minute time. really pleased with my time as had expected/hoped for about 2.20. The Boy never saw me sprint in as he was elsewhere!!!!!!

Rigel Beat predicted time (which I'd thought was highly optimistic) by 20 mins! Hit wall at 11 miles and last slog to finish was a killer but still managed sprint finish (though more of a stagger than a sprint).

Velo Boy First time Pod and myself have ran seperately in the same race. Therefore an opportunity to push out and see if I could set a pb. Which I did. Long stretches pushed the motivation to the limit. Only three or four passed me, whereas I lost count as to how many I passed. Quite happy with my pacing, thanks to my Garmin 305. Enjoyed the course and thought the organisation was spot on.

WACA Sadly not quite there. Should have altered my estimated once I realised I had to rest because I was injured but reluctant due to stubborness. I really did try, I was quite impressed my knee held but it was actually my fitness due to a few weeks out that finally told, prob allayed to my poor diet recently too, am terrible, especially when injured. Actually quite pleased I was only 2 seconds off my pb from Benidorm 6 months ago. Sorry to those who bet on me and lost your bets.
