Couldn't finish his dinner? Perhaps he likes Paella?

Wasn't ever a Sterling hater (he always worked hard in an England shirt even when nothing was coming off for him) and I'm really pleased for him and with him. He was fantastic first half. The whole team were to be fair.

Second half we hung on a bit. Should have been a pen when Pickford got himself in a mess but it wasn't given. Wed have kicked off it that had been at the other end but sometimes the luck is with you.

Before the game we (my son and me) were saying that if we take a pasting the knives will be out for Southgate. Now my worry is that he's going to be hailed as the True Messiah.

Hopefully there'll be a bit of perspective. Somehow I doubt it.

Your penultimate sentence sums up Football, "Hopefully there'll be a bit of perspective."

Sterling certainly isn't the messiah, but for the couch potatoes that can scarcely pass water to call him shit is utter trash.

England are no world beaters and Spain are on the decline, but we should always celebrate victory :)

Spain were unbeaten in competitive home games since 2003.

They had never conceded three goals in a competitive home game.

It was 840 days since they were last beaten in 90 minutes

Fair comments Fenners. Just nice to see a good young side, who seem to give a shit and who come across as pretty decent blokes wear the shirt.

Fenners,

Your stats say that I was as good for England at 23 than Lineker was. Utter nonsense.

Didn’t think that was a penalty, Pickford got the ball cleanly (after being pulled back a bit by the attacker) but he never should’ve got himself in such a fix.

On the other hand, the Maguire booking that everyone was up in arms about, he absolutely wiped out the player, even if he did get the ball first.

We all see these things differently, even with the help of VAR

Ah, the beautiful game, remember that? Let's put down some jumpers and have a socially-distanced kickabout. Long shots only, and no hugging and kissing.
