Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Probably the best option playing beach

I also struggle with repeat letters as I tend to not think of them

I wouldn’t be able to try BEACH as I play in the mode that doesn’t allow you not to use letters you’ve already got.

I don’t play in Dio’s Hard Mode, but I always guess as if I was in Hard Mode. I know that stops me from being able to play a potentially useful eliminator guess like BEACH, but I suppose that I just like the idea that any guess could be a possible winner.

Every now and then, I make a mistake and put a letter which was marked as orange in the same position as in a previous guess, so it’s not perfect!

Guess I should probably just engage Hard Mode …

I tend to play as though I'm in hard mode too. Though that might be because I play as soon as I wake up so my sleepy brain can't cope with clever strategic elimination words.

I always play hard mode but sometimes wish it would remind me not to use letters that are already eliminated, as a quid pro quo for forcing me to re-use letters that are hits!

I don’t know what hard mode is?

I like to do it in under a minute when I first wake up, so don’t need anything making it more complicated!

Any pasted results grid with an * next to the puzzle number / score = completed in hard mode.

Aha; Is that what the asterisk means?

I thought it meant Not Out (ie you’ve never failed a wordle)

Interesting discussion. The first letter could be B C H P T, so if you are in hard mode you could get it in 2,3,4,5 or 6 goes, depending on your luck.

Using BATCH will get it in 3 definitely, but not 2.

It's a matter of preference for how you want to play. Playing hard gives you an average of 4, not hard 3.
