Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Having to rearrange my morning's work because it is allegedly imperative that I intend a meeting about a family in which a parent is suspected of fabricating illness in the children, only for that meeting to be cancelled half an hour before it is due to take place.

Just as well there isn't serious cause for concern and the worst that's likely to happen is that one of the children might grow up to be a whining 30-stone hypochondriac, which is within the cultural norm for around here anyway.

That the country I am in is so advanced in some ways, e.g. Public access to wifi, but so rubbish in others, e.g. Try paying Illinois tollway for a missed toll online without a US address!

The fact that every time a rail fare increase is announced my next train runs at least half an hour late to emphasise the quality sefvice I pay for.

After learning yesterday that my annual appraisal score has been moderated and thereby reducing my bonus by a few hundred pounds in what I can only assume is cost cutting (everybody in my team had their score reduced by one point), overhearing the following between two contractors

"Oh I think Im in the same position as you, I could take 6 months off quite comfortably if I wanted to."

Cyclists on hire bikes with no understanding of shared path etiquette. Mind you, the hire company brands the bikes so they all say "divvy" in big letters on the front.
