Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

What is the point of this (£32.50 5k) race?

No, not Tough Mudder, this time... Electric Run. At more than a tenner per mile, and judging by the clientele (see vid on their site), I would expect free water and free pills at this event.

It's the World's Premier, innit? That has to be worth shelling out a few squids for.

"Electric Run promises to transport the mind, body and soul to a new world in a healthy and drug-free way."

Oh arr. If you're not on drugs then what's the point?

In fairness, if the pictures are accurate, it does look like they put some effort in to all the Jean Michel Jarre stuff. They're not just having an expensive 5k in the dark with some glowsticks. electricrun.co.uk Not my sort of thing but if that's the sort of thing you like...

Looks radio rental, sure it's not drug free? A mix of Ibiza hedonism and running, surely it should say 'free drugs' :-D

If ( and its a big IF), it provides what it promises, it might be fun. Value for money is for the participants to decide. I think running through as fast as possible might be missing the point. An altered state of consciousness would probably help to get the best out of it.

Looks more like a big rave to me (with a run thrown in for a bit of a larf)

Ah come on, it looks like fun. If you're a teenager or in your early twenties, still clubbing but also do some exercise, this could be a good night out with your mates. It's not like you're going to get round it in 25 minutes. I'm too old now though.
