Wf can be wrong with my thumb?

Over the last few days my thumb has been getting really sore/stiff & swollen up a bit in the top & bottom joints it is aching & throbbing now I cannot apply pressure through it or bend it very much. It's srsly affecting my abilities to play candy crush etc lol. Answers on a postcard?
