My take on this is that if your pace is dropping off towards the end of the session, you're doing too many reps or the pace is too high (not you personally, SPR, people in general). You should always finish a session thinking you could do a couple more reps if necessary.

@J2R I can guarantee I won't finish my session at Luton tonight able to do any more ![]() Agree though, that 200 session needs a sensible pace. @SPR No recoveries between sets - just straight through ![]() |

LOL @LBAC Si no recoveries between sets reminds me of how I explained my approach to a 3km indoors I'd just done 12 x 200 in 36 to 40 seconds off 45 second recoveries and they said what's your plan for the indoor I said Oh its 15 x 200 in 36 to 40 seconds off 0 second recoveries - they looked bemused I ran 9.53 :¬) |

That's a tough one @LBAC Si although on @Gobi point I did wonder about 15-20 x 200 with 10 secs rec as a 3000 race predictor session. I felt my session on Tuesday was better than my race on Sunday TBH. I kind of agree @J2R but I do think you can get to the end and be done (so wouldn't be able to hold pace for one more rep), proper MD work is going to be like that a lot of the time with the lactate build up. I also think it's worth testing yourself every so often. That's different from always going out too fast and fading. |

Hello knowledgeable ones. On which websites are track events usually listed? Is there a way of finding all licensed track competitions? I know about opentrack but not all events seem to use that platform. I missed entering an open mile race at my local track last year cos I didn't know it was on 😅

@Gobi Races sound harder when you look at them last night! @SPR Yep it's hard to get used to. Do love it though. @auburnette Really tricky. Masters indoors are all on opentrack, my club masters fixtures are through my clubs. Finding the open races are harder I agree |

@auburnette Sometimes races are listed on PO10 before they happen, then it's a case of finding them elsewhere (in some cases on the club website). Can also look at PO10 for the previous year to see what's likely to happen and see if you can find the meeting for the current year. Sites I use generally for outdoors are: data.opentrack.run entry4sports.co.uk race-results.co.uk Also the one @LBAC Si linked to. |
