Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Here's an interesting position from a recent game. I had a cunning plan but played the obvious move instead.

Nb4 would allow you to get the queen and take their rook if they take your knight. Possibly open up your A pawn to head for promotion.

Nb4 allows Ne5+ and Nc6 I think.

I'm pretending Meglet is going to beat me as I'm not concentrating on our 'dead-rubber' match, ignoring that she beat me just as easily before.

Well done in advance Meglet.

Thanks. Good game, took me a while to work out how to break through.

Once you figured it out it didn't take you long.

Well spotted both - imagined king would get over to push knight off c6 and allow pawn promotion.

So what is white’s best move above?
