Have you ever text or emailed the person you are talking about/slagging off by mistake?? OR THOUGHT YOU HAVE?? how many emotions does is conjure up in 1 millisecond.... heart hammers/palpitations/nausea/bowells open(almost) ... well that has happened to me lots although thankfully its never ACTUALLY been the case but just now i sent a text to my mate saying how i have been hunting for a fathers day card for my father in law which meant looking for a 59pence one and that i had bought him a tin of toffee but hubby said he cant eat as he has dentures and i said Tough luck i didnt know that and hubby wasnt bothered either.....so i clicked send and then few minutes late had a missed call from mother in law (who i had just had a text from before i text my friend) so in an instant i thought "OH F*CK DID I SEND THAT TEXT TO MUM IN LAW???"...no i hadnt but lesson learnt(tbf my texts re in laws are normally far far worse)

No, but I often think the text message I've just sent made no sense whatsoever and have to read it back to check.

I've done it on IM.
A guy at work who is actually only about 61, but at least 150 in spirit, was discussing his family, and spoke about his parents. I sent an IM to a friend - "Can you believe xx's PARENTS are alive?".
Except I sent it to XX.
I nearly died. He was actually very reasonable about it.

Once I sent an email to a member of staff expressing how much their behaviour was irritatring me, and that it needed nipping in the bud - when actually I meant to send it to their line manager. It wouldn't have been too bad, except the day before we had told this member of staff that they were being made redundant. Cue a very awkward meeting. Urgh.

Was criticising a manager heartily when he walked into the room. I added, "and I guess that's just one of the ways he's particularly conscientious".

I was bitching about something my mum had done via text to my hubby. A few mins later I received a text from my mum which read, "Hey. That's unfair" Oops.

years ago I emailed a colleage to sympathise with his redundancy and went into one about the company in general and had a reply back from the new MD who had a very similar name!

Not quite the same thing but I have signed off phone calls / emails with 'Love you' or similar on more than one occasion due to tiredness/confusion.
